“TIL A WOMAN COMES ALONG” LANDS CHRIS JANSON ON RADIO’S MOST ADDED LIST
|
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 04.06.10
NASHVILLE, TN –BNA Records newcomer Chris Janson moved to Nashville after high school and slept in his car until he earned himself a slot at Tootsie’s where he played every day for a year. That intensive drive and work ethic is paying off as his debut single, “Til A Woman Comes Along” was the most added song of the week in Country Aircheck and third most added in Billboard. Janson says his weeks out on the road visiting radio have been some of the most fun times of his life.
Janson co-wrote the song with friends Phil O’Donnell and Cole Degges while they wearing cutoff shorts and toolbelts! Janson and Degges stopped by O’Donnell’s new house where he was hanging drywall and the guys offered to lend a hand. They quit the manual labor stuff and ended up writing the song. It’s a fun song about when you’re single you’re runnin’ and gunnin’ with your buddies till that one woman comes along and ‘lays down the law.’ I’m proud to have it as the first single and to have written it with my two fellow compadres makes it all the better,” said Janson.
Janson wrote or co-wrote all but one song on his forthcoming album and he explains his approach to songwriting is basically his approach on life. “I call it like I see it and write it like I feel it. It’s the simplest way to describe any song on the album really.”
Roughstock.com has listed Janson on their Ones To Watch: The Class of 2010 list and the song earned Music Row Magazine’s DISCcovery Award saying, “The deep rhythm section is soaked in echo. He sings with wailing, drawling conviction while the rocking production swirls around him.”
