For Columbia newcomer Josh Thompson, the road to country music stardom began five years ago, when the singer/songwriter from Wisconsin moved to Nashville, landed a publishing deal and made ends meet by pouring concrete, all the while playing over 100 shows a year all over the country in a 15-passenger van. Now, The Academy of Country Music has asked Josh to document his first trip to the ACM Awards show in the “Road To The ACM Awards” series, exclusively available now on “Road to the ACM Awards – Josh Thompson” features Thompson’s journey leading up the 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards, which will air Sunday April 18th on the CBS Television Network at 8:00 PM ET/PT.

The “Road To The ACM Awards” webisode series have previously featured artists Taylor Swift, Lady Antebellum and Gloriana as newcomers, all of whom have gone on to achieve major success in country music. Josh entered the country music scene with his debut single, “Beer On The Table,” which quickly climbed the charts to become a Top 20 hit. His current single and the title track off his debut album, “Way Out Here,” was just released to radio and is already Top 40 in two weeks. And with the release of his album Way Out Here, the Jagermeister Country Tour already under his belt, and Brad Paisley’s H20 2010 World Tour coming this summer, Josh Thompson is proving to be no exception to the trend.

“It was an honor to be chosen for the Road To The ACM Awards webisodes on this year and it was an absolute blast to film. I look forward to going to Vegas for my first experience with the ACM Awards,” says Thompson. While in Vegas, Josh will also be performing for the service men and women of Nellis Air Force Base during the USO Concert in Partnership with ACM Lifting Lives.

In addition to keeping up with Josh on the road, fans can now join the first official Josh Thompson Fan Club, called “The Chrome Bullet Crew.” Created at, the new fan club is an exciting environment for people to get engaged in his career and obtain up-to-the-minute information on all things Josh Thompson.
